Binance Lists PONS and HAJIMI, Traders Cash In on Surging Volumes
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has expanded its derivatives lineup by launching perpetual contracts for two new assets: PONS (Robinhood Chain) and HAJIMI (BNB Smart Chain). The listings have triggered a surge in trading volumes on TradingView charts and opened up opportunities for traders.
PONS is the native utility token of Pons, a launchpad on Robinhood Chain. Its deflationary model involves automatic buybacks and burns funded by fees. After the news broke, PONS hit new highs around $0.93 with a daily trading volume of $20.39 million and a market capitalization approaching $1 billion.
HAJIMI, on the other hand, is a meme coin on BNB Chain that's fueled by hype within the Asian community. Due to its extreme volatility, the available leverage for HAJIMI is capped at 3x, unlike PONS which offers up to 20x leverage.
A technological drama unfolded in the HAJIMI market immediately after Binance published its announcement. Automated algorithms captured the initial wave of liquidity ahead of retail traders, with a news trader carrying out a successful MEV attack (front-running) and securing a profit of $378,000.
