Binance Restricts HTX Transfers for UK and EU Users Amid Regulatory Scrutiny

Binance has imposed restrictions on deposit and withdrawal services for users in the UK and EU involving HTX, formerly known as Huobi. According to Justin Sun, a prominent adviser to HTX and founder of Tron blockchain, these restrictions apply only to users in these regions.

Sun stated that HTX does not operate in the UK or EU and that negotiations with regulators are already in progress. The move aligns with tightening regulatory requirements in these jurisdictions, such as MiCA regulation in the EU and FCA rules in the UK, which impose strict compliance obligations on crypto service providers.

The restrictions may reflect Binance's efforts to comply with local regulations, particularly regarding the handling of assets from unregistered entities. This development underscores the growing complexity of cross-border crypto operations and the need for exchanges to navigate diverse legal environments.
