Binance Seeks MiCA License in Greece Amid EU Compliance Deadline

Binance, the world's largest centralized exchange by trading turnover, has submitted an application for authorization under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) in Greece. The exchange is working with the Hellenic Capital Market Commission on the licensing process.

The filing comes as France's financial regulator notified Binance and 89 other crypto companies that the transition period for MiCA compliance ends June 30. Non-compliant firms must cease operations in July, according to the regulator.

Greece has not issued a single MiCA license for crypto-asset service providers to date, but Binance views the regulation as a positive milestone, bringing clarity and stronger user protections.
