Binance Suspends Deposits on Base Network Ahead of Cobalt Upgrade

Binance has announced that it will suspend deposit and withdrawal operations on the Base network effective September 30, 2026.

The exchange stated that technical processes will continue uninterrupted for token transactions on Base, and that the $ETH-based network traffic will not be affected.

The Cobalt upgrade is a significant development on the Base network, which includes features such as B20 standardization, dynamic node updates, and chain-agnostic verification steps.

Next in line for the Base ecosystem is the Denim upgrade, scheduled to take place in October 2026.
