Binance Wallet's Pre-IPO Token Campaigns: No Shareholder Rights Guaranteed
Binance Wallet has introduced access to private-company tokens through PancakeSwap's Pre-Access campaigns. These tokens offer indirect exposure to companies before a potential public listing, but it's essential to understand that they are not equity shares.
The token holders do not have any shareholder rights, such as voting or dividend rights. Instead, the value of the token is linked to the company through a separate arrangement, which may be contractual or synthetic.
The responsibility for the product is divided among several parties: Binance Wallet provides access, PancakeSwap hosts the campaign, and a third party structures the exposure. The company issuing the token may not even be involved in the offering, and it's possible that the IPO may never occur.
