Bitcoin and Ether Plummet Below Key Levels Amid $500M Liquidations
Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) dropped significantly on September 23 as a sharp crypto-market pullback led to over $500 million in liquidations within 24 hours.
The total number of traders liquidated during this period reached 120,809, with losses totaling $505.44 million. Liquidations occur when exchanges forcibly close leveraged positions after traders can no longer meet margin requirements.
The largest single liquidation was a $10.04 million long position in the ETHUSDT market on Binance, where a long position benefits from rising prices.
