Bitcoin Blasts Past $81,000 Amid Risk-On Sentiment Surge
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) has surged above $81,000 after experiencing a remarkable 5% increase in price on Friday. The surge can be attributed to a shift among traders towards a risk-on approach, where they're willing to take more risks and invest in assets that have the potential for high returns.
According to Nic Puckrin, founder of Coin Bureau, the breakout above the $78,000 resistance level triggered a wave of liquidations of short positions, further propelling Bitcoin towards the $80,000 threshold. This trend is evident among crypto derivatives traders who have heavily invested in call options, anticipating further price increases.
The failure of the Clarity Act and recent Federal Reserve rate hike did not deter traders from taking on risk. Instead, they seem to be focused on the potential for Bitcoin's price to continue rising. Puckrin emphasized that the upcoming stage is critical, particularly in the $80,000-$82,000 range, where resistance is expected to be stronger.
