Bitcoin Breaks Above $85,000 as Saylor's Strategy Buys Again
Bitcoin (BTC) has surpassed $85,000 for the first time in eight months, and Michael Saylor's Strategy is buying again. According to Claude AI, this breakout rests on firmer ground than previous failed rallies, with ETF demand, corporate buying, and a clean technical break all supporting the move. BTC is currently trading near $85,200, up nearly 6% in 24 hours.
Strategy has acquired an additional 950 BTC for around $75.7 million at an average price of $79,670 between September 14 and 20, bringing their total holdings to 846,000 BTC. This purchase represents a small but significant signal from the company, which had paused buying for weeks and even sold some assets to shore up its cash reserves.
Meanwhile, institutional money is returning to Bitcoin through ETFs, with US spot Bitcoin ETFs pulling in $433 million on Friday, led by Fidelity's FBTC and BlackRock's IBIT. This influx of capital has helped reverse earlier withdrawals and keep the week positive at $6.2 million net.
Claude AI predicts that this breakout will continue, targeting levels above $88,000 to $90,000, with little overhead resistance above $85,000. The bigger prize is a retest of the old level from early 2025, which could come into play by year-end. However, a daily close back under $82,300 would mark a false breakout and likely send BTC toward the $73,500 to $73,800 support zone.
