Members of ZetaChain have overwhelmingly voted to shut down its Cosmos-based L1 and migrate its native token, ZETA, to Solana as an SPL token at a 1:1 ratio. The proposal, which passed with 99.4% support from token holders, marks the end of the project's standalone blockchain.

The decision was made after core contributors put forward a governance proposal that would define the withdrawal window for assets bridged from other blockchains and trigger the migration. Validators will continue to run and staking rewards will remain in place until the transition is complete.

ZetaChain's team stated that its Cosmos SDK-based layer-1 no longer fits the project's vision, which now focuses on Anuma, a privacy-oriented artificial intelligence application, and a Private Memory Layer. By migrating to Solana, the project aims to free up resources spent on maintaining the layer-1 chain.
