Bitcoin Consolidates as Gold Declines Amid Rising Interest Rate Bets
Bitcoin's recent price action has been characterized by sideways trading around $78,000, which is being seen as a sign of consolidation after the recent rally above $81,000. This comes at a time when Gold is experiencing a decline in value, with its price dropping to $4,400 - a 7% drop from its August peak of $4,697.
The latest JOLTS Job Openings data showed that US job openings ticked up to 7.271 million in July, marginally missing consensus forecasts of 7.3 million. This could reinforce the Federal Reserve's likelihood of raising interest rates, especially with inflation still above the 2% target.
Crypto funds experienced a significant increase in inflows last week, reaching over $3.2 billion - their largest weekly intake since October 2025. Meanwhile, Gold funds recorded more than $7.3 billion in inflows, also their largest uptake in ten months.
