Bitcoin Consolidation Watch: Analyst Garrett Jin Sees Range Bound Trading Ahead
Market analysts are closely watching Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's speech in Jackson Hole for its potential impact on cryptocurrencies. If he takes a hawkish stance, it could put downward pressure on Bitcoin and altcoins, while a more dovish approach could push the market higher.
Just before the speech, Bitcoin was trading just below $80,000. Chinese crypto whale Garrett Jin had previously stated that BTC is likely to consolidate within a specific range for now as it tries to overcome selling pressure in the $80,000-$82,500 region.
Jin believes that if Bitcoin moves sideways within this range ($72,500-$84,000) with reduced leverage and volatility, it could create a healthy outlook for the market. He also emphasized that a stable daily close above $82,500 would be a significant signal that the current selling pressure has been absorbed.
However, Jin warned that if Bitcoin falls below $76,600, it could indicate a downward move, especially if other indicators such as ETF inflows, Coinbase premium, and net profit/loss also deteriorate. He noted that while a daily close below $76,600 alone is not a definitive bearish signal, caution is warranted in this scenario.
In related news, Jin has taken a new long position on Bitcoin, opening 600 BTC at approximately $79,000 on August 26th. This adds to his existing long position of 1,868 BTC, with an average entry price of around $77,090.
