Bitcoin Crashes Below $65,000 as Asian Markets and US Regulations Weigh
Bitcoin's price plummeted to $63,200 after it failed to sustain levels above $65,000. The sudden decline was sparked by a sharp downturn in Asian markets and the postponement of legislative regulations in the US.
The cryptocurrency market faced significant selling pressure following the close of US stock exchanges. Bitcoin's value dropped by 2.7% across the broader market as investors became increasingly risk-averse.
Other cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), and Solana (SOL), were also negatively impacted by the decline. The postponement of the CLARITY Act in the US Senate further reduced optimism among investors, who had been expecting institutional purchases to drive growth.
Nexo analyst Dessislava Ianeva emphasized that the coming days will be critical for crypto assets, particularly with the Fed's interest rate decision on Wednesday and key economic data releases on Thursday. If macro pressures continue, Bitcoin's decline could deepen; however, a recovery towards $65,000 is possible if the data comes in positive.
