Bitcoin Edges Out Ethereum in All-Time High Chase
As of September 27, 2026, Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at $84,900, roughly 33% below its all-time high of $126,080 set in October 2025. Ethereum (ETH), on the other hand, is priced near $2,710, about 45% below its peak of $4,950 in August 2025.
To reclaim their respective records, Bitcoin needs a 49% gain while Ethereum requires an 83% climb from current levels. The two cryptocurrencies have been on a tear lately, with Ethereum surging 72% over the past 90 days compared to Bitcoin's 42% gain.
Bitcoin's smaller required gain and recent strong demand narrative make it more likely to hit its all-time high first. However, if Ethereum maintains its rapid pace, it could potentially reach $4,950 in a similar timeframe as Bitcoin reaches its record high of $126,080.
