Bitcoin Enters October on Strong Footing, Eyes $95K Target
Bitcoin began October near $85K after ending September at $83,563, a price that is comfortably above its estimated $54,000 realized price and the 200-week moving average near $66,000. This strong start to the month has sparked renewed interest in the 'Uptober' narrative, which suggests that Bitcoin tends to perform well during October.
Historically, Bitcoin has posted positive returns in 10 of the last 13 Octobers, with average gains of around 19% and a median gain in the low-teens. Analysts are cautiously optimistic about this trend continuing, but warn that seasonality alone is not enough to drive sustained price growth.
Lacie Zhang, research lead at Bitget Wallet, notes that $82,000 is a key support level for Bitcoin, while a clean move above $87,500 could open the path towards $95,000. However, a sustained break below $80,000 would weaken the bullish setup.
Institutional demand remains strong, with U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs attracting $2.4 billion in its best week since October 2025. This influx of capital is likely to provide support for Bitcoin's price in the coming weeks.
