Bitcoin Enters October with Optimism and Uncertainty
Bitcoin is entering October on a high note after posting its first July-to-September winning streak since 2012. The cryptocurrency gained around 10% in September, marking its strongest performance in that month since 2012.
The recent three-month gain has sparked optimism about the possibility of another successful Uptober, a nickname for October traditionally considered one of Bitcoin's best months. However, the memory of 2025 serves as a cautionary tale: despite hitting an all-time high of $126,080 on October 6 that year, Bitcoin finished the month lower due to a tariff scare.
The Federal Reserve's upcoming decision on October 27-28 is expected to have a more significant impact on market movement than any seasonal trend. With inflation data showing core PCE rising just 0.2% in August and 3% year over year, the likelihood of an October rate hike has dropped below 50%, creating a more favorable backdrop for Bitcoin.
