Bitcoin ETFs Could Surpass Gold in Value, Predicts Bloomberg Analyst
Bloomberg's Eric Balchunas believes Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) could potentially triple gold ETF assets, reaching $300-400 billion. He points to three main factors: a younger investor base viewing Bitcoin as a store of value, growing institutional adoption, and the asset's gradual maturation.
The senior ETF analyst made this prediction in an interview, arguing that as younger generations grow wealthier, they'll increasingly view Bitcoin as a reliable investment. Balchunas compared Bitcoin's current stage to adolescence, stating it's still 'like gold as a teenager.'
He acknowledged that gold currently retains several major advantages over Bitcoin among large institutional investors, including thousands of years of history and significantly lower volatility.
