Bitcoin ETFs Dominate Weekly Inflows While Ethereum Faces Outflows
On October 5, US spot crypto ETFs saw an unusual shift. Bitcoin and Solana ETFs experienced net outflows, while Ethereum ETFs recorded net inflows. XRP products had no net flow for the day. This daily trend contrasted sharply with the weekly data, where Bitcoin had dominated inflows and Ethereum faced outflows.
Bitcoin spot ETFs collected $241.09 million in weekly net inflows, marking their third consecutive positive week. Cumulative inflows since their 2024 launch reached around $57.8 billion. In contrast, Ethereum spot ETFs shed $138.02 million in weekly net outflows, reversing the prior week's $690 million inflow. Year-to-date, Ethereum ETF inflows stood at approximately $1.5 billion.
Solana and XRP spot ETFs continued their inflow streaks, with Solana gaining $2.43 million and XRP bringing in $4.74 million for the week. Zcash ETFs, however, recorded their first weekly outflow of around $94 million. Bitcoin's market dominance grew as it traded near $85,000 to $86,000 during this period.
The research highlighted a shift in investor sentiment toward Bitcoin, raising concerns about Ethereum's market position. While Bitcoin's steady demand suggests strong investor confidence, Ethereum's volatility could change quickly with positive daily trends. Altcoins like Solana and XRP maintained their inflow momentum, but the broader crypto market may face increased volatility due to the rotation toward established assets.
