Bitcoin ETFs hemorrhage $450M as Senate Bill Fails
Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the US saw their largest single-day outflow since June, totaling $450.4 million on September 15. This comes after a day of net inflows worth $159.9 million on September 14.
The last comparable outflow occurred on June 24, when the funds lost $469 million due to a broad tech stock sell-off weighing on risk assets. The September 15 figure approaches that level and coincides with the US Senate's failure to advance a major digital asset bill through a procedural vote.
Fidelity's FBTC recorded the largest outflow of any single fund, losing $214.8 million, while BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust followed closely behind with $161.7 million in withdrawals. Together, these two funds accounted for more than 83% of the total outflow across all 13 products.
