Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana Poised to Dominate Cryptocurrency Market in Next Decade
Three cryptocurrencies are expected to thrive in the next decade, with a notable impact on the market. Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency, is set to undergo its next halving in April 2028, reducing its daily issuance from 450 to 225 coins. This will slow new supply growth to over 12% of current levels, intensifying market competition and enhancing Bitcoin's scarcity and value.
Ethereum, on the other hand, has established itself as a central player in the cryptocurrency market, with $16.6 billion in tokenized assets hosted on its platform as of September 30. This represents 43% of the $38.7 billion market, positioning Ethereum as a leader in the sector.
Solana, a fast-growing blockchain, is set to further enhance its speed with the introduction of the Alpenglow consensus system. This will reduce its transaction finality from 13 seconds to 0.15 seconds, solidifying its status as the fastest major blockchain.
A recent investment allocation advice suggests allocating 60% of investments to Bitcoin due to its scarcity and survival potential. The remaining 40% should be split equally between Ethereum and Solana, despite their supply challenges, as they remain leaders in the crypto sector.
