Bitcoin Faces Stiff Resistance in Bid for $87,500 by Year-End
The Bitcoin price prediction for December 31 centers on reclaiming its opening price of $87,500. Currently trading at around $78,565, or 11.4% below that target, the coin has already bounced 23% from its August low. However, the key challenge lies in clearing a resistance level it has already lost twice this month.
The market has rejected Bitcoin's attempts to reach $80,500 twice, and sellers have stepped in immediately. This suggests that the price may struggle to clear this ceiling before December 31, despite the potential for favorable conditions. To reach its target, four conditions must converge: a soft September 11 CPI print, sustained spot Bitcoin ETF inflows, continued corporate treasury accumulation, and rising Bitcoin dominance as altcoin leverage unwinds.
The Federal Reserve's rate-hike odds currently stand at 60%, and a soft CPI reading could drive these odds lower. This would pull yields down, making cash less attractive and pushing capital toward assets with higher potential returns, such as Bitcoin. The September 11 CPI print is the make-or-break catalyst for the $87,500 target.
