Bitcoin Holds Steady After Record-Breaking Options Expiry Event
A massive options expiry event has passed for Bitcoin and Ethereum on Deribit, clearing roughly $16.53 billion in contracts. Despite the significant amount of money changing hands, Bitcoin's price barely budged, trading near $84,590 with a 1.41% increase over the past 24 hours.
The put-to-call ratio ranged between 0.69 and 0.84, indicating more calls than puts, which is bullish positioning. However, max pain was positioned far below spot, suggesting sellers were defending rather than driving the price.
According to AI predictions, Bitcoin's path forward will be influenced by key levels: $82,300 as a floor to defend, $88,000 to $90,000 as the next test, and $98,330 as the bigger objective. The risk is that expiry removes a floor as well as a ceiling, potentially leading to exaggerated price movements.
