Bitcoin Holds Steady as Stocks Rebound from Fed Rate Hike
Bitcoin held steady near $76,500 after stocks rebounded following the Federal Reserve's decision to raise benchmark interest rates by 25 basis points.
The move was in line with expectations and marked a return to hiking cycle for the Fed, which had previously kept rates steady or cut them across prior meetings. The European Central Bank also delivered a 0.25% hike last week, while the Bank of Japan is expected to follow on Friday.
Despite the rate increase, U.S. equities turned higher after a policy-driven wobble, with major indexes finishing the day up on the session. The S&P 500 gained 0.9%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.5%.
CryptoQuant's Bull Score Index fell to around 60/100, still labeled 'bullish' but below levels associated with stronger momentum. The firm noted that a Bull Score of 60 keeps the trend bullish, but highlighted several offsetting pressures, including fading U.S. demand and rising inflows into altcoins.
The market is now digesting the shift in central-bank policy expectations, which can change how capital flows across asset classes. TradingView data pointed to cooling BTC volatility and only modest price moves, consistent with range trading.
