Bitcoin Miners' Fee Revenue Hits 10-Year Low Amid AI Shift
Bitcoin miners are struggling to make ends meet as transaction fees account for just 0.69% of their revenue, reaching a 10-year low. This trend is largely driven by the decline in Bitcoin's value, which has fallen nearly 50% since its October all-time high.
The fixed block subsidy, currently 3.125 BTC, now makes up a larger portion of miners' income. The estimated average cost of producing one Bitcoin is $78,254, almost 23% above the current spot price.
As major players pivot to AI computing, Bitcoin's network hash rate has declined by 33% since October. Analysts warn that this shift could affect the network's security and decentralization.
