The cryptocurrency market experienced a downturn following the failure of the CLARITY Act to advance in the United States Senate. The bill, backed by the Trump administration and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, aimed to establish a federal framework for regulating digital assets but fell short of the required 60 votes.

The motion was rejected by 49 votes to 50, with four Republicans joining the Democrats who voted against it. Democratic Senator Chris Coons did not cast a vote in this instance.

As a result of the failed bill, Bitcoin's value plummeted nearly 4% within 24 hours, dropping below the $76,000 threshold. Other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and HYPE token also experienced declines.
