Bitcoin Price Holds Firm Despite Old Wallet Movements

Bitcoin price has been steady despite recent movements of old wallets holding between five to seven years and seven to ten years of coins. According to market analyst Darkfost, these wallets have moved over 5,000 BTC in some days, sparking concerns about a potential selloff.

However, the data does not show that these coins are being sold. The transactions are spent UTXOs, which means they've been moved from one wallet to another, but it doesn't automatically mean they're being sent to the market for sale.

The reason behind this movement could be security, as long-term holders often move their Bitcoin to new wallet addresses to better protect their funds. While selling is a possibility, the data does not currently support that scenario. Exchange inflows have not shown the kind of jump that usually comes before a major selloff.

Funding rates remain low, indicating that the rally is not being driven by heavy leverage. This could be a more sustainable foundation for Bitcoin price growth than a rally fueled mainly by borrowed money.
