Bitcoin Price Slows as Investor Sentiment Turns Cautious Amid Middle East Tensions
Bitcoin's recent price surge has slowed as investor sentiment becomes increasingly cautious due to rising tensions in the Middle East. The price of Bitcoin (BTC) has been trading above $79,000 on Wednesday after a mild pullback over the previous two days.
The institutional demand for Bitcoin is showing early signs of caution, with spot Exchange Traded Funds recording mild outflows of $45.65 million on Tuesday. This comes as the US forces struck five Iranian tankers on Tuesday in response to Tehran targeting an American warship.
According to a K33 Research report, BTC derivatives activity remains subdued across both the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and perpetual futures. The analyst at K33 Research noted that perpetural markets show a similar trend, with funding rates averaging 5.2% over the past week and briefly falling toward 0%, while a short-lived rebound in open interest has fully reversed.
