Bitcoin Rallies Above $70k, But Can Crypto Hold On?

Crypto investors are finally getting some welcome news as Bitcoin has surged above $70,000 for the first time in more than two months.

The rally comes after a difficult year for crypto, with prices still roughly 10% below where they started 2026. The record high of around $125,000 reached last fall seems like a distant memory.

Crypto needs buyers, and for much of this year, demand has been lacking. On Robinhood, crypto trades through the app totaled $18 billion during the second quarter, down 35% from the same period last year.

The slump might seem surprising given how easy it is to buy crypto now and how friendly regulators have become. Major financial companies are offering more ways for people to use and invest in digital assets, but that hasn't led to higher prices yet.
