Bitcoin Reclaims $80K Amid CFTC Rule Proposals
The cryptocurrency market rebounded on Friday after the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed two proposed crypto market rules for review.
The CFTC's move comes after the Clarity Act failed to advance in the Senate earlier this week, which had dragged Bitcoin's price down to below $75,000 on Tuesday.
As a result, Bitcoin reclaimed its price above $80,000, climbing over 4% to $80,800 and becoming the top-trending cryptocurrency on Stocktwits at the time of writing.
The overall market jumped 2% higher to just under $2.8 trillion with nearly $490 million in crypto bets having been liquidated in the last 24 hours.
