Bitcoin Sees Clear Path Forward Despite CLARITY Act Setback
Michael Saylor believes that Bitcoin can continue to advance despite the setback of the CLARITY Act, which stalled in the Senate on September 15. The executive chairman of Strategy expects the SEC, CFTC, and U.S. Treasury to develop rules for digital assets under existing law.
Saylor pointed out that banks will expand Bitcoin custody and lending as financial institutions become more involved with the asset class. This move would allow banks to serve clients holding BTC and create connections between traditional finance and digital assets.
He also highlighted the GENIUS Act, a separate regulatory development from the stalled CLARITY Act. The law provides a federal framework for payment stablecoins and could be a catalyst for their adoption.
