Bitcoin Set to Dominate in Three-Horse Monetary Use Case Race
Cory Klippsten, founder and CEO of Swan Bitcoin, believes that there will be a three-horse race between the Dollar, Bitcoin, and gold for monetary use cases. He claims that besides Bitcoin, no other token is gunning for a monetary use case.
Klippsten argues that Bitcoin's decentralization, network effect, and purpose as money set it apart from other digital assets like tokenized gold or oil. He notes that these private blockchains and centralized tokens are subject to government pressures and can be reversed, unlike Bitcoin which is irreversible.
Regarding the global supply chain disruptions and fiat currencies facing inflationary pressures, Klippsten views Bitcoin as a hedge against monetary inflation, not price rises. He attributes the current inflation numbers to governments printing money to service debt and expenses.
Klippsten expects a three-horse race between the Dollar, Bitcoin, and gold for different uses, with Bitcoin being the fastest horse in the race. He believes that while the dollar's purchasing power decreases, gold and Bitcoin will increase in purchasing power, with Bitcoin increasing faster over time.
