Bitcoin Slides Below $63,000 Amid Resurgent Investment Outflows and Coldcard Attack Fears
Bitcoin's price continued to slide on Monday, falling below $63,000 at one point and closing the day at around $62,800. The decline comes as investment outflows from US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) resumed after a three-week pause.
Data from SoSoValue revealed that these ETFs experienced net outflows of $61.53 million last week, which analysts believe could put additional downward pressure on the cryptocurrency's price in the near term.
Meanwhile, concerns over potential attacks targeting Coldcard hardware wallets have grown, with Alex Thorn, Head of Research at Galaxy Research, warning that users may face a fourth wave of coordinated attacks.
The issue stems from a firmware vulnerability affecting certain Coldcard devices, which has led to the theft of 1,367.05 Bitcoin. To mitigate this risk, Thorn advised affected users to move their funds immediately and pay higher transaction fees to speed up transfers.
