Bitcoin Slides Towards $82,000 Amid Rising Bond Yields
Bitcoin's recent rally has come to an end as it falls towards $82,000 due to a risk-off mood and surging bond yields. The world's largest digital asset was trading around $83,112, down about 0.5%, after reaching as low as $82,598 and as high as $84,239 during the session.
The crypto has now surrendered much of its rally that took it above $87,000 last week and is experiencing its longest run of daily losses in almost four months.
Bond yields have increased pressure on Bitcoin, with the US 10-year Treasury yield trading above 5.2%, around its highest level since 2007. This has reduced the relative appeal of Bitcoin and other non-yielding speculative assets.
Despite strong institutional demand for cryptocurrency, ETF buying has failed to stop the slide. US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted approximately $2.4 billion during the week to September 25, their strongest weekly inflow since October 2025.
