Bitcoin Spot ETF Inflows Soar to Biggest Since January
The US spot Bitcoin (BTC.CC) ETFs have seen their biggest inflow day since January, according to recent data. On September 3, these funds pulled in approximately $731 million, with BlackRock's IBIT accounting for $454 million of that. This significant influx is part of a larger trend, as over the last three weeks, $3.8 billion has flowed into spot Bitcoin ETFs, bringing total assets to around $101 billion.
Last week alone saw nearly $1 billion in inflows, and despite Friday's jobs report causing a drop in Bitcoin price back below $80,000, the ETFs continued to attract investors. In fact, Friday still saw another $175 million of inflows, bringing the total for the week to roughly $987 million.
It's worth noting that while this may seem bullish, the year-to-date (YTD) Bitcoin ETF flows are still approximately $1 billion in the hole, depending on the data source. Additionally, other cryptocurrency ETFs, such as those for Ethereum (ETH) and XRP, have seen their recent inflow streaks break.
The author notes that days like September 3 may become more normal, changing the relationship between spot demand and ETFs. The ETF is no longer just a bridge between traditional finance and Bitcoin; it may be becoming one of the most important places where the spot bid actually lives.
