Bitcoin Stalls at $80,000 as Traders Await Major Catalysts
Bitcoin's price has hovered around $80,000 after a recent rally, but it faces significant resistance at this level. Traders are waiting for major catalysts, such as US inflation data due later this week and the Federal Reserve's policy meeting on September 15-16.
The weekend slowdown in trading activity has reduced momentum, making every move around $80,000 more important. Seven early mining wallets moved a combined 350 BTC worth roughly $28 million on September 6, adding uncertainty to the market.
Market analysts are watching the $80,500-$80,800 resistance zone closely. A sustained move above this area could strengthen the recovery and put higher levels around $83,000-$84,000 back into focus. However, a break below the $78,000-$78,500 support zone could weaken the current short-term structure.
The US Treasury's debt buyback program is also generating discussion in crypto markets, as changes in Treasury liquidity and bond yields can influence investor appetite for riskier assets like Bitcoin. However, analysts caution that this program is primarily aimed at managing the Treasury market rather than functioning as conventional quantitative easing.
