Bitcoin Stays Above $78K as US-Iran Conflict Escalates
A conflict between the US and Iran has escalated in the Gulf, with multiple strikes launched by the US against Iranian targets near Kharg Island. Despite this, Bitcoin's price remains above $78,000.
The US launched strikes against Iranian tankers after Iranian forces attempted to hit an American Navy warship. In response, the Revolutionary Guards threatened oil tankers around ports in Kuwait and Bahrain, warning crews to leave vessels near facilities linked to American forces.
Tehran is also preparing a maritime exclusion zone around the Strait of Hormuz, with officials stating that further US attacks could bring retaliation against regional energy assets. The conflict has widened as Iran-backed Houthis attacked four cities in southern Saudi Arabia, targeting an airbase and facilities linked to Saudi energy infrastructure.
Energy markets have reacted sharply to the conflict, with Brent crude rising closer to $100 per barrel. However, Bitcoin has shown little reaction, remaining around the $78,000 area. Some crypto analysts expect Bitcoin to resume its recovery if key resistance levels are reclaimed.
