Bitcoin Suffers Largest Capitulation Event in Months After CLARITY Act Failure

The US Senate's failure to pass the CLARITY Act sent shockwaves through the cryptocurrency market, with Bitcoin (BTC) experiencing an immediate price drop.

CryptoQuant's analyst Darkfost reported that over 23,000 BTC were sent to exchanges at a loss following the setback, valued at around $1.8 billion in USD terms.

This represented the largest capitulation event in about a month, according to CryptoQuant, which noted that short-term holders (STHs) are generally more sensitive to price movements and tend to sell their assets during periods of fear and forced selling.

Santiment Intelligence's data showed that market activity started to react even before the final vote came in, with traders repricing the deteriorating probability of passage and social activity confirming their concerns.
