Bitcoin Suisse Cuts Jobs in Switzerland Amid Global Expansion Plans
Crypto-financial services provider Bitcoin Suisse has announced plans to reduce its workforce in Switzerland by up to 60 positions, or half of its local employees. The company employs approximately 200 people globally and operates regional offices in Liechtenstein, Abu Dhabi, and Bermuda. As part of a broader corporate reorganization, management stated that software engineering and back-office functions will increasingly transition to global hubs to access wider talent pools and lower operating costs.
The restructuring follows an initial disclosure by Swiss media outlet Finews regarding the company's strategic shift. Bitcoin Suisse confirmed that a mandatory employee consultation period will remain open until September 20 before final decisions take effect. The organization plans to close its information technology development facility located in Copenhagen, and operations will instead be channeled through established international centers like Bratislava, alongside plans to build a new technical hub in Vietnam.
