Bitcoin Surges Above $87,000 as Institutional Inflows and Corporate Demand Boost Price
Bitcoin's price has broken above $87,000, putting the psychologically important $100,000 level back in focus for traders. This rally comes as institutional inflows, corporate purchases, and an improving technical structure support the cryptocurrency's recovery.
The move coincided with gains in technology stocks, suggesting investors are becoming more willing to take on risk. Short covering may also have contributed to the advance as traders betting against Bitcoin closed their positions.
US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw a surge of $714 million in net inflows during this rally, marking one of their strongest daily performances since October 2025. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust led the group with $350 million in net inflows, followed by Fidelity's Bitcoin ETF.
Corporate demand has also remained strong, with Strategy purchasing another 950 BTC for $75.7 million during the previous week, lifting its total holdings to approximately 846,000 BTC.
