Bitcoin's value in Turkish lira has surged past ₺3.9 million, with the cryptocurrency trading near ₺4 million on Sunday.

The Turkish lira has hit a record low against the US dollar, with one dollar equivalent to around 48.8 lira.

This means that Turkish investors are experiencing two forces simultaneously: Bitcoin's price in dollars has risen, while each dollar buys more lira.

As a result, the value of BTC/TRY has increased much faster than Bitcoin's dollar price alone would suggest.
