ZetaChain Ditches Standalone Blockchain for Solana-Powered AI Pivot
ZetaChain, a blockchain project that focused on connecting separate blockchains, has voted to shut down its standalone blockchain and migrate to Solana.
The proposal, which passed with 99.44% of votes in favor, would see ZETA tokens converted 1:1 into a Solana-native SPL token under the same ticker.
ZetaChain's core contributors argue that maintaining its own blockchain is no longer necessary, as it requires coordinating upstream security advisories and patches across dozens of independent validators, an operational burden they expect to increase with AI tools making vulnerabilities easier to find.
The project is pivoting towards private AI applications built around what it calls a Private Memory Layer, which has attracted over 300,000 users since February and processed more than 1 million requests across 35 AI models.
