Bitcoin Surges Past $64K Amid S&P 500 Decline
Bitcoin's recent performance has been a topic of interest for investors and analysts alike. On Monday, the cryptocurrency surged 2.6% to over $64,000, marking its best daily gain in over a month. This outperformance comes despite the S&P 500 falling by 0.52%, making it a notable exception in recent months.
This is significant because Bitcoin has underperformed the S&P 500 on about two-thirds of trading days in the past three months, partly due to the AI stock rally and the cryptocurrency's current bear market phase.
The move opposite to U.S. stocks highlights Bitcoin's potential as a distinct asset class, especially as it approaches the expected bottom of its four-year cycle later this year.
