Bitcoin Surges Past $85,000 as 'Crypto Winter' Ends
Bitcoin has rebounded strongly over the past five days, rising by more than 7% and breaking above $85,000. According to Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Hougan, this is a sign that the 'crypto winter' may be coming to an end.
Hougan believes that the industry's fundamentals are improving, with increased trading activity on the blockchain and further participation of large financial institutions such as Blackrock in the digital asset market. He predicts that crypto asset prices may adjust to underlying fundamentals later this year.
From a technical perspective, BTIG analysts say that as long as Bitcoin can hold the support level around $75,000, bulls could push further toward the $90,000 region. Hougan also stated that investors are rotating back from AI stocks into cryptocurrencies, citing the previous AI boom 'almost siphoned all market attention'.
