Bitcoin Tests Near $83,000 Amid Q4 Outlook Challenge
Bitcoin has been testing the $83,000 mark as its weekly close approaches, challenging an earlier bearish outlook for the fourth quarter of 2026. The cryptocurrency moved above its approximate May high during the week of Sept. 21, which was seen as a potential sign of bullish strength.
The move remains unconfirmed until the weekly candle closes, with a closing price above the May high potentially strengthening the bullish interpretation. However, a return below the level could indicate that the move failed and Bitcoin may fall back into its prior trading range.
Benjamin Cowen's earlier view called for further weakness in the fourth quarter based on historical midterm-year weakness and recurring four-year market cycles. The recent breakout above the May high has challenged this expectation, but it does not confirm a broader change in the market cycle.
