OG.com Seeks CFTC Approval for Stock-Linked Perpetual Futures
OG.com Markets is seeking US regulatory approval to offer perpetual futures tied to individual stocks. The proposal, filed with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), would allow OG.com to list cash-settled single-stock futures that never expire and can trade 24 hours a day, five days a week.
The request follows similar filings from other trading platforms, including Coinbase, Kraken's Bitnomial exchange, and prediction market Kalshi. These companies aim to bring the popular perpetual futures product, pioneered in crypto by BitMEX in 2016, to US stock markets.
OG.com was spun out of Crypto.com as an independent platform last year and is valued at $5 billion. The company's CEO, Kris Marszalek, has stated its intention to expand beyond prediction markets into futures and perpetual contracts. Robinhood took an equity stake in OG.com as part of a multi-year deal to use its CFTC-regulated derivatives exchange and clearinghouse for prediction markets.
