Bitcoin's $83,000 Threshold Holds Key to Altcoin Rally
A technical analyst is observing a positive trend for altcoins as long as Bitcoin stays above $83,000. The analyst notes that almost every day, a different altcoin is breaking out, with some experiencing small pullbacks but no significant drops.
The bigger picture for Bitcoin looks strong, according to the analyst, who points out that since its low in July, it has made higher highs and higher lows, meeting the basic requirements of a strong upward move. The analyst is watching three resistance levels above $88,600, $92,200, and $97,637.
The analyst cautions that if Bitcoin breaks below the $83,000 area in a confirmed manner, attention would shift to the next support zone instead. Currently, the number of Bitcoin dominance, which measures the proportion of the total crypto market that Bitcoin takes up compared to altcoins, is stuck moving sideways in a range.
The analyst notes that it's too early to call this an altcoin season, as the dominance level hasn't dropped below 58% yet. A drop below this level would indicate a genuine altcoin rally has started. On the shorter-term chart, the analyst is watching a support zone between $81,600 and $82,937.
