Bitcoin's Ambitious Target: Can It Reach $16 Trillion by 2030?
Cathie Wood's Ark Investment Management believes Bitcoin can reach a $16 trillion market value by 2030, which would translate to a price of $797,000 per coin.
This prediction is based on six catalysts that could fuel Bitcoin's potential gain. The most important ones are institutional investment and digital gold, with the former accounting for around 2.5% of global fund managers' $200 trillion in managed assets, adding $5 trillion to Bitcoin's market cap, and the latter capturing between 20% and 60% of gold's $32 trillion market cap.
However, Ark has reduced the size of the emerging-market safe-haven opportunity by a whopping 80%, as stablecoins and other alternatives are experiencing high adoption rates. This raises questions about Bitcoin's ability to achieve its predicted market value.
The recent recovery in Bitcoin might continue, but the chances of it soaring to $800,000 per coin by 2030 seem slim. Ark's forecast might be too ambitious, given the current performance of Bitcoin and gold.
