Bitcoin's BIP Editors Oust Luke Dashjr Over Conflict of Interest and Minimal Contribution
Bitcoin's BIP editors removed Luke Dashjr from his role on Monday, two days after the soft fork he championed split thousands of nodes onto a chain that has not produced a block since Aug. 8.
The removal came about 26 hours after Mark 'Murch' Erhardt filed a motion on the developer mailing list, citing four grounds: conflict of interest, minimal contribution, championing a contentious fork, and a breakdown in coordination with other editors.
Dashjr called the accusations false and accused Erhardt of stopping communication. He had not addressed the removal itself publicly as of Monday evening.
The BIPs repository has no written procedure for taking away the role of editor, but Erhardt merged a pull request that deleted Dashjr's name from the list of editors.
