Bitcoin's Strong September Sets Stage for Uptober Rally
Bitcoin's price has been on the rise, and some analysts are predicting a strong October, following a positive September. Historically, when September closes higher, Bitcoin has averaged over 18% growth in October, according to Coinglass data. If this pattern repeats, Bitcoin could enter October on a stronger footing, reinforcing the 'Uptober' narrative.
Institutional demand is also supporting Bitcoin's price. Spot Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) recorded mild inflows of $51.25 million through Thursday, indicating robust demand. Michael Saylor's firm, Strategy, acquired another 1,665 BTC, supporting a bullish outlook for Bitcoin after spending much of the summer strengthening its liquidity position.
However, rising Treasury yields and a stronger US Dollar are weighing on Bitcoin's price. Analyst Iliya Kalchev noted that 'rates and the bond market are weighing on BTC, and for now, they are sending mixed signals.' The analyst added that for momentum to return, Bitcoin needs a steadier rate backdrop, stronger ETF demand, and continued accumulation from holders.
Bitcoin's technical structure remains relatively healthy, according to a K33 Research report. The report highlighted that Bitcoin has absorbed a major derivatives deleveraging event without a sharp price decline, keeping its technical structure relatively healthy. The report noted that the market remains sound, and the risk of an imminent long squeeze is limited.
