Bitget Freezes XRP Withdrawals Amid Ongoing Stolen Token Swaps
Bitget's XRP withdrawal route remains disabled as the exchange prepares to reopen withdrawals for some users on October 2. The platform had initially planned to restart BTC and ETH withdrawals on September 28 and 29, respectively, with USDT following on September 30.
In a separate development, about 27.63 million stolen XRP tokens have moved from two attacker-controlled accounts tracked by Bitquery, while 75.35 million remained in six such accounts as of September 26.
According to analytics firm Bitquery, the stolen XRP is being swapped towards Bitcoin through THORChain, a cross-chain swap network. The investigation could not identify the owners of the final Bitcoin wallets or whether any XRP was sold on centralized exchanges.
