Bitget Hack Suspects Ask for Help in Public Chat Rooms

A $387 million hack of Bitget has led to a trail of laundered funds being tracked by blockchain investigator ZachXBT. He discovered that suspects involved in the laundering process are openly asking for customer support in public chat rooms, specifically on Discord servers and Telegram channels of services they use.

ZachXBT identified five accounts linked to transactions related to the hack, including 'lolo,' which also laundered money from the $292 million Kelp DAO exploit in April. The investigator believes these individuals are Chinese money launderers working for suspected North Korean attackers.

The attackers tricked Bitget's internal approval system into signing transfers, and CEO Gracy Chen stated that North Korea was 'very likely' behind it. The funds are being moved through bridges and landing in mixers like Wasabi, a wallet that blends coins to hide their trail.
